Flood Waters Can Be Hazardous to Your Health!
When outside water infiltrates your property, we treat this as a Category 3 event. Deemed the most hazardous type of water, we make sure we address the affected areas properly to avoid any secondary damage in the future. Floodwaters can contain bacteria from dead animals, hazardous particulates from oil, sludge and other types of contaminants. As the water overflows into your property it has a tendency to saturate any porous material in its path. This includes drywall, insulation, carpet and even hardwood floors.
Choosing a professional restoration company that adheres to the IICRC (Institution of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certified) standards is a good choice in this type of situation. A certified and trained professional will be able to properly identify the materials that need to be replaced and which can be safely dried. At Bullseye Cleaning and Restoration, we use the safest cleaning products for the application. When dealing with Category 3 water, we choose the strongest chemicals possible, while still adhering to the health and safety of the property occupants and our technicians.
Restoring Your Property after a Flood
1. Properly assess the damage
Although floodwaters can be extremely damaging, not all is lost if you experience a flood on your property. After your place your call to Bullseye Remodeling & Restoration, we will send out an experienced technician to evaluate the damage. They will assess the affected areas and evaluate hidden damage behind walls and under the floors using state-of-the-art moisture meters and tools.
2. Extract the water
Removing all standing water as quickly as possible is key. We do this through our truck mounted water extraction tools. By extracting the most amount of water possible, we can cut down drying times by 40% in most cases.
3. Remove damaged materials
Once the water is removed, we will remove any affected materials. Some of the contents we may be able to restore depending on the type of damage. Drywall and flooring, however, needs to be removed after contact with Category 3 floodwaters.
4. Dry & clean remaining areas
Using dehumidifiers and other tools, our technicians will dry out the affected areas. This could take anywhere between 3-7 days depending upon the extent of the damage. In cases where it would take longer, the proper timeframe will be communicated at the beginning of the project.
5. Rebuild damaged areas
In cases where materials needed to be removed, our team will repair and replace the areas with new building materials; returning your property to its pre-loss condition.
