Step 1: Turn off the water shut-off valve.

A water valve can be located in various locations on the property, including but not limited to the basement, crawl space or near the foundation wall in slab-on-grade construction situations. Typically a round wheel handle, turn the handle clockwise until the water to the properly shuts off. If you do not know where to locate your water valve, then now is the time to find out.
